What customers are saying: “Wow, this changes everything. I was doing a powerless build in my truck but thought “Oh, wouldn’t it be nice to have a lil’ battery. Isn’t this Jackery idea quaint?” I received it and mind blown. So many things are possible now without going full solar.”
Jackery 1500 Explorer Portable Power Station Review
The 1500 Explorer Portable Power Station sits at the high end of the power spectrum. It’s a little heavier than the brand’s compact series, but it’s for serious energy supply.
With 1,800W and a 1,534Wh capacity, you can power up your electric stove, fridge, and AC (just maybe not at the same time).
The 1500 Explorer can handle 7 of your devices at the same time though (phone, tablet, microwave, etc.), and since it’s made with a durable handle, you can transport it from home to car to campsite when needed.
While you’re outdoors, take advantage of the sun and hook it up to four SolarSaga 100 panels to refuel your unit.
Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with Jackery and pick one up for $1,699.
What customers are saying: “This solar generating system is well worth the considerable price. It is efficient, easy to use even for us beginners. Connect it with the SolarSaga 100 to recharge in the sun and get it for $530.

Who Is Jackery For?
Jackery looks to be marketed towards people who spend time outdoors, but honestly, customers use it for everything from powering electric craft machines to their electric mobility scooters.
After learning everything about what Jackery’s responsible power banks can do, I think they’re essential to have on hand for just about anyone.
Whether it’s to power up your devices during a blackout or to take with you camping, there are a million and one ways to use any of the brand’s units.
Jackery Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
Having a reliable source of power is exactly why this brand was created, and if they don’t provide it, their products aren’t worth it. Plain and simple.
To find out if they work, and how well, in this section of my Jackery review, I’ll show you what I found after a thorough search for feedback.
My first stop was jackery.com. Below, you’ll see a list of ratings for some of their best-sellers.
- Solar Generator 1500: 5/5 stars, 24 reviews
- Explorer 1000 Portable Power Station: 4.5/5 stars, 149 reviews
- Explorer 240 Portable Power Station: 4.9/5 stars, 126 reviews
- Explorer 300 Portable Power Station: 4.9/5 stars, 80 reviews
- Explorer 500 Portable Power Station: 4.8/5 stars, 121 reviews
- Explorer 1500 Portable Power Station: 4.9/5 stars, 30 reviews
Reading up on the comments for the Explorer 1500 Portable Power Station, it sounds like pretty much everyone who bought it was pleased with its quality and efficiency. One Jackery review read:
“Beyond exceeded my expectations. Delivery was very fast, and the package was packed very well. I got this for any extended power outages, after testing, I can run my full-size washing machine at least four times between charges…Correspondence with the company was also exceptional. I won’t go into why but they went above and beyond to help.”
After reading a handful of comments from around the web, it sounds like this kind of service is typical for the brand. In the next Jackery review I found, you’ll learn more about what the Explorer 240 can do.
This one comes from Amazon, where it’s rated 4.7/5 stars from 15k shoppers:
“I bought the Jackery unit recently to take on a camping trip. I used the unit to power my Meade 12-inch telescope and charge my phone and iPad…I have a Meade power tank (nickel battery) that couldn’t last more than a few hours. The Jackery lasted two nights, running the scope from 9 pm to about 1 am both nights without charging.”
Not only does the Jackery Explorer 240 outperform other models on the market, it efficiently supplies more than enough power to your devices.
It was a common belief that the portable power bank felt durable and well-made.
Finally, I decided to go to Home Depot’s website and look into the Solar Generator. There, it was rated 4.6/5 stars by 167 buyers.
The most common piece of feedback for the unit was that it was very high quality and worked as described. Here’s what one customer had to say about what it could charge:
“This will run household appliances and power recliner and power bed. My fridge runs fine…I will carry Jackery on my handicapped mobility scooter as the library is 8 miles away, Dr’s office 4 miles away, etc. With Jackery on board, I can charge the scooter battery and get home safely.”
Well, there you have it, folks. Jackery does indeed create reliable, long-lasting, and powerful batteries. Customers like to take them with them when camping and outdoors, but it sounds like many of them use theirs for everyday activities as well.
The most frequent complaint was about the company’s returns process. But overall, the number of positives was overwhelming and there’s good reason this brand has sold over 1.5 million units to date.
Is Jackery Legit?
After reading the brand’s Better Business Bureau profile and wondering about its F score, I dug into the comments section to see what the fuss was about. There were a total of 10 negative Jackery reviews, 8 of which the brand hasn’t responded to.
It turns out that there are fake Jackery websites (such as Jackery.xyz) out there, and some complaints were made to my featured brand’s BBB profile despite it not actually being their issue.
They have been able to shut down some fake websites, but there’s a chance some still exist. Make sure you’re shopping directly on jackery.com.
Is Jackery Worth It?
The need for renewable power sources is only going to increase with time. If you’re relying on noisy and irresponsible gas generators, it might be time to consider something a little more green.
Jackery is a highly recommended brand, and personally, I like that their batteries were developed with years of research and fine-tuned over another 9 by someone who knows their way around the most innovative labs.
Chosen for their quality, I think it’s great that the brand offers smaller, affordable options along with larger power banks. It means that you’ll have many options to choose from for your needs and budget.
So are they worth it? I definitely think so, and so do hundreds of thousands of customers, many of whom use them daily.
Jackery Promotions & Discounts
Giving you the full scoop in my Jackery review means including details on deals too.
I checked out the entirety of the brand’s website to see what they had to offer, and it turns out they give US customers free shipping and returns.
For a sweet deal, you can enter your email on the website for a chance to spin to win. By doing so, you can get up to a 12% discount or even win a free Explorer 1000.
Where To Buy Jackery
This is perhaps one of the most important things you’ll read in my Jackery review: if you’re going to purchase directly from the brand, make sure you’re shopping at jackery.com.
The brand has reported multiple scam sites, so be careful and go straight to the source.
If you’re interested in other reliable places to shop, you can find Jackery batteries and solar generators at these trusted partners:
- The Home Depot
- Walmart
- Lowes
- Amazon
FAQ
Who owns Jackery?
Z. Sun, who previously worked as a senior engineer at Apple, co-founded and partly owns Jackery. Named after the battery jacket the brand created for the iPhone, Jackery was brought to life in partnership with Honda.
Can a Jackery power a house?
The Jackery Explorer 2000 is the brand’s largest battery and it can power many of your home’s large appliances.
With a charging capacity of 2,160Wh, it can handle air conditioners and small kitchen appliances simultaneously. Just one battery may not be enough to power an entire home.
How long will Jackery battery last?
Jackery’s batteries last 500 life cycles which equates to about 2-3 years of use. After that point, it will reach a maximum of 80% battery life which will then continue to decrease with time.
When talking about how much power your battery can provide, how long it will last depends on which one you’re using, what you have plugged in, and how long you’re using it for.
I read that the Explorer 2000 can power an electric buzz saw or hair dryer for a continuous 60 minutes.
How do I connect Jackery to my house?
Jackery’s most powerful battery may not be enough to power your entire house, but it will supply enough power to large appliances and many of your devices.
To connect, all you need to do is plug your device or appliance into their DC outlets or USB ports.
Does Jackery ship internationally?
Jackery has several different versions of its website for international customers. If you’re on the US one, you’ll only be able to ship to the contiguous US.
But if you click on the flag at the top right-hand corner of the web page, you’ll be taken to the correct version and see shipping options for your country.
Right now, Jackery ships to the following countries:
- The US
- Canada
- Japan
- The UK
- Germany
- Korea
What is Jackery’s Shipping Policy?
For US customers, Jackery will ship to the contiguous US only. That means no PO Boxes and no addresses in Puerto Rico or Hawaii. The brand offers just one shipping service, so at this time, you won’t be able to choose an expedited method.
They don’t provide details on how long orders take to process or ship, but from the reviews, it sounds like they arrive in under a week for US customers. You’ll see a more reliable estimate once your order ships and Jackery sends you your confirmation email.
What is Jackery’s Return Policy?
Jackery seems to have a very easy return process and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
That means you can return your unit for any reason (as long as it’s in good working shape) and get a full refund. The process is pretty simple, and I’ll walk you through it below:
- Send an email to [email protected] and let them know you’d like a refund. Here’s what else you’ll need to include:
- Order number
- Shipping address
- S/N code (you’ll find it at the bottom of your battery)
- They’ll reply with a shipping label (free of charge) and you’ll print it and attach it to the outside of your return package
- Drop off the package at the nearest post office
Once they receive your order, they’ll inspect it and issue your refund. This can take up to 14 business days but it’s usually quicker than that.
