About SeedLip
Bars and restaurants across the globe have welcomed SeedLip with open arms as they recognize people want a non-alcoholic drink they can indulge in that’s not just Diet Coke with lime squeezed onto the rim.
SeedLip is looking to fill the gulf of bad mocktails with their alcohol-free spirits. The brand also has over 60k Instagram followers on their North American account alone.
But what does that mean for you? Perhaps nothing, but if you read through our SeedLip review, you might be charmed by the company’s practices, ingredients, and products. In the end, you’ll be able to decide more easily if it’s worth the buy.
Overview of SeedLip
Ben Branson’s vision began humbly. He wanted a non-alcoholic drink while out at a pub on a foggy English night in 2013, and what he got was an overpriced Kool-Aid (which is not to knock Kool-Aid as our SeedLip review writing staff enjoys punching back cartons of pink lemonade during the summer).
From there, he looked to John Francis’ The Art of Distillation, a recipe book from 1651 filled with appetizing non-alcoholic drinks. The book illuminated the lightbulb in Branson’s head, and he spent the next two years perfecting his own non-alcoholic drinks based on Francis’ framework.
In that time, Branson developed a 6-week process that results in sublime, sugar and alcohol-free spirits that carry the regality of a live Pride and Prejudice production.
He then founded our featured brand in 2015, wishing to share his recipes for SeedLips drinks with everyone else who felt slighted by the lack of satisfying non-alcoholic cocktails.
Now then, are you ready to be impressed? It only took three weeks for Branson to sell out of his initial 1,000 bottles when he launched SeedLip.
The brand was eventually purchased by the larger alcohol brand Diaego, which has helped SeedLips cocktails reach more customers in more bars and restaurants.
Despite being purchased by Diaego, Branson is still working hard to improve his company. He aims to be carbon neutral by 2022.
With all that said, let’s cascade into the highlights section of our SeedLip review:
Highlights
- Offers a versatile collection of alcohol-free spirits
- In-house developed recipes
- Ships internationally
- All-natural ingredients
- Sugar-free & calorie-free
- Aims to be carbon neutral by 2022
So, the company only sells three different flavors. But that’s only a bad thing if you absolutely need a flavor for every night of the week. Each of these items can make astounding cocktail, champagne, and highball alternatives.

SeedLip Garden 108 Review
Whoever thought a spirit made of peas, hay, spearmint, rosemary, hops, and thyme could sound so appetizing?
The SeedLip Garden 108 imparts a naturalistic and forestry taste. We can picture Frodo and the rest of the fellowship members pounding back cocktails containing this product in between helpings of potatoes.
A single 23.7 fl oz bottle can make up to 14 cocktails depending on how strong you want them to taste.
You can get your own SeedLip Garden 108 bottle for $32.
SeedLip Garden 108 Gift Box Review
With this product you’re essentially paying an extra $3 for a box, so what that means to you all depends on how much value you place on packaging.
We have to admit that the SeedLip Garden 108 Gift Box box is quite charming. Nothing communicates intelligence about one’s drinks like a good package. You can grab a 23.7 fl oz bottle and the astute gift box for $35.
SeedLip Grove 42 Review
Since worldwide travel restrictions haven’t fully opened up, maybe this next product in our SeedLip review will satisfy your romantic jet-setter desires.
SeedLip Grove 42 Review
The SeedLip Grove 42 carries a shimmering flavor that recalls Mediterranean plains and orchards. Its prickly flavor comes from the fabled combination of ginger and citrus fruits.
Besides ginger, the spirit is made of bitter orange, blood orange, lemongrass, lemon, and mandarin. The brand recommends using it to make cosmopolitans, toddys, or citrus fizzes.
If you like the flavor enough then this product should deliver enough content so that you can make 14 cocktails with it. A 23.7 fl oz bottle costs $32.
SeedLip Grove 42 Gift Box Review
For $35 you can get the SeedLip Grove 42 Gift Box, which is the original product in a subtle orange box (and just a hint of all the citrusy goodness that is to come).
SeedLip Spice 94 Review
This next bestseller is for the adventurer in all of us. The Spice 94 has a thrilling flavor profile if we do say so ourselves.
SeedLip Spice 94 Review
In the mood for something more festive? Why not give the SeedLip Spice 94 a gander? It’s made of allspice, oak, green cardamom, cascarilla, grapefruit, and lemon.
The allspice gives it a seasonal aroma while the lemon provides lightness. Picture a little pop and bitterness among earthiness and you’ll be on the right track. You can put it to good use by integrating it into martinis and egg nogs.
You’ll get up to 14 servings out of this foxy cocktail ingredient. The 23.7 fl oz item costs $32.
SeedLip Spice 94 Gift Box Review
Invest $35 and you’ll get the SeedLip Spice 94 Gift Box, which contains the 23.7 fl oz Spice 94 bottle in an alluring hazy green bottle.
Treat that special someone by surprising them with this gift during the holidays. It’s best to give it to them before the Christmas season so they have time to make all those festive cocktails and nogs.
SeedLip Cocktails Review
We’ve given you a roadmap by covering the company’s spirits, but we’ve yet to show you where the buried treasure lies (in the form of Seedlip cocktails). That’s why we’ll be covering some of the most interesting recipes for each of the brand’s best-selling products.
SeedLip Orchard Sour Review
The SeedLip Orchard Sour uses the SeedLip Garden 108 in this refreshing alcohol-free cocktail.
You’ll complement the spirit’s flavor by adding 1 tablespoon of pear jam, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and giving the drink some body by tossing in an egg white.
If you’re feeling extra fruity you can squeeze some lemon over the top, or sprinkle some lemon zest to highlight the cocktail’s acidity. After all, who doesn’t like a bit of sourness with their sweetness?
SeedLip French 0.5 Review
The SeedLip French 0.5 mocktail will have you feeling like a responsible Jay Gatsby throwing the wildest party of all time. It’s a great alternative to champagne for those watching their alcohol intake,
Mix together 35mL of SeedLip Grove 42, a tablespoon of lemon juice, 10mL of syrup, and a final dollop of alcohol-free sparkling wine.
Just giving you that recipe makes our SeedLip review writers want to pop the corks on our champagne bottles.
SeedLip Panoma Review
This SeedLip Panoma recipe calls for grapefruit juice, lime juice, syrup, and a soda topper alongside the SeedLip Spice 94.
The end result, after giving the ingredients a mix in a cocktail shaker, is a perky and sweet cocktail. It could have you licking your lips all night like a dog trying to get peanut butter off the roof of its mouth. Of course, you’ll look much classier than that dog,
Who is SeedLip For?
SeedLip products are for those who want to limit their alcohol intake. Why would they want to do that, you’re probably asking. Our SeedLip review team can think of a few good reasons, like religious devotions or people who have to drive after leaving the party.
For some would-be bartenders, SeedLip offers products that can help them practice their drink mixing skills without getting unintentionally drunk off of their creations.
How is SeedLip Made?
If you Google ‘how is SeedLip made?’ one of the first questions that pops up is, ‘is SeedLip just water?’
Is water just hydrogen? Is salsa just tomatoes? Are you just a mess of carbon molecules, or are you an inquisitive human being?
Since the company makes their own spirits they are tight-lipped about their entire process. Here’s what we found out about their secret drink-brewing ritual:
- It’s a six-week process
- They start by macerating the ingredients
- Next, they distill them in a copper pot
- Afterward, they blend each ingredient and filter them together
- They finish the process by bottling the drinks in jolly old England
How Can You Drink SeedLip?
The SeedLip website has many recipes, some of which we’ve covered, that offer plenty of ways for you to enjoy their products.
However, it’s best if you get creative with them. We recommend looking up recipes outside of the brand’s website and experimenting with those.
From there, you can craft your own delicious drinks. Since all SeedLip products are alcohol, allergen, and calorie-free, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is running through the bottle before your next shipment arrives.
SeedLip Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
We scoped out some reputable sources for this segment of our SeedLip review, but there was no better place to begin than by looking at the company’s own website.
Customers left positive remarks regarding how well SeedLip spirits, like the Grove 42, tasted. It quickly became a staple item among those who mixed their own drinks at home.
Another interesting advantage that customers frequently mentioned was that their products gave people craving an interesting mocktail something to sip on during social outings.
A 5/5 star review on the SeedLip Grove 42 page even highlighted how hard it was to distinguish between the product and real gin: “It’s fresh tasting. It’s wonderful combined with yellow label Fever Tree tonic and juniper berries, cucumbers, and an orange peel. Hard to tell it’s not gin!”
Here’s a full list of customer-generated scores found in the SeedLips reviews section on their own website:
- SeedLip Garden 108: 4.5/5 stars based on over 315 customer reviews
- SeedLip Grove 42: 4.5/5 stars based on over 555 customer reviews
- SeedLip Spice 94: 4.5/5 stars based on over 375 customer reviews
We also peered over at the SeedLip Garden 108’s Amazon page to see what customers thought.
Overall, they thought positively about the product! It earned a 3.7/5 star average from over 1,340 reviews.
Of the negative reviews we did find were those that felt the product didn’t deliver the same punch and mouthfeel of traditional alcohol.
However, this cocktail scholar explained why that was likely the case and how someone could work around it: “I feel people are expecting it to taste like vodka, for example, without the alcohol, which is not correct. It needs to be used as a base and build the flavors on top of it.”
Wow, thanks for the tip!
Other customers mentioned how the SeedLip Garden 108 had a mature taste.
Our SeedLip review staff found that the company held a similar score on Trustpilot, with a 3.6/5 star average score from 2 customer reviews.
One of those reviewers lamented that their products didn’t taste strong enough for them. Yet, as we just mentioned, that could be because they weren’t layering the drinks correctly.
On the other hand, the 5/5 star review on Trustpilot said, “When you first smell it you think hmmm not sure but oh my god with fever tree tonic it just tastes like a Hendricks Gin. Can’t recommend enough for anyone wanting the taste of a G&T but with no alcohol.”
In summary, SeedLip reviews loved the taste of the brand’s products, how it allowed them to drink in social situations, and how well they worked alongside other ingredients.
Is SeedLip Worth It?
Considering how dire the selection of non-alcoholic drinks is, we believe that the brand is worth the purchase. There are many people, including members of this SeedLip review writing staff, who have never tasted a highball or champagne because they never had access to alcohol-free alternatives.
SeedLip drinks offer a way for non-drinkers to enjoy classic cocktails without breaking any moral, ethical, or religious doctrines.

FAQ
Who owns SeedLip?
While SeedLip founder Ben Branson is still the guiding voice of the company, the huge alcohol company Diageo bought them out in 2019.
Is SeedLip safe to drink while pregnant?
Whoa, do we look like doctors here? We’d advise you to speak with your doctor before trying SeedLip while you’re pregnant because the products can contain small amounts of alcohol.
When we say small, we’re talking about the same alcohol contents that you’d find in orange or apple juice. Is it enough to cause damage? Probably not, but once again, we’re not doctors.
Is SeedLip gin?
To the chagrin of gin enthusiasts and the delight of beverage poindexters, we found out that the brand’s products are not technically considered gin because they don’t contain juniper.
For those unaware, all gins must contain juniper to be legally considered gin.

SeedLip will email you everything you need to know about your order, like the tracking number and expected delivery date, once they have processed your item.
What is SeedLip’s Return Policy?
When our SeedLip review team says you can return any defective product for a refund, we don’t mean they’re defective in that these products accidentally contain alcohol.
You can return or exchange any damaged goods up to 30 days after you received it. The bottle must remain unopened and had to have been purchased from the company website.
SeedLip will not cover any associated shipping fees for returns or exchanges. That’s the price you’ll have to pay if you want to sip the seductive SeedLip nectar.
