Overview of Alias Mae
Alias Mae was founded by Tom Kirkhope in 2011. He had always respected the industry as he spent his childhood at his father’s footwear factory. So, after switching careers, he went back to his roots and wanted to begin shoemaking.
Kirkhope moved all the way to China to pursue a job in footwear and ended up working in a large shoemaking factory. So, he was able to get real hands-on experience and gather enough knowledge about the process to go it alone.
Additionally, Kirkhope emphasizes that footwear takes a lot of grueling work and even some engineering skills. Designing and developing shoes needs to start at the very bottom, which is exactly where he began. The business owner emphasizes that quality is the top priority.
There isn’t much more information about the brand online. Still, I did find that the Port Melbourne-based brand collaborates with i=Change, a company that helps retail stores donate to charities. For every purchase, $1 is donated to one of three projects. This includes initiatives like food relief, women’s shelters, and mental health support.
My Alias Mae review will now go over the brand’s highlights.

Alias Mae Boots Review
From the classic Chelseas to thigh-high, skinny heels, the popular Alias Mae boots can accommodate anybody’s style. The designs are simple and classic, with a few modern twists. So let’s get into it!
Alias Mae Connor Review
The Alias Mae Connor boot is a classic pointy boot with a skinny heel. Its length is just above the ankle, and the chocolate brown color gives it so much versatility, you could wear them almost anywhere with anything.
The boot is also designed with a side zipper closure and a convenient pull tab for easy wear. As mentioned, brown is easy to style with. The pointed toe is nostalgic and brings us back to the Y2K era. It’s the perfect fall boot and would look chic when paired with some flared pants or denim. Throw on a leather jacket to really send the look home.
The Connor boots are on sale for $149 (regularly $216).
Alias Mae Cam Review
The last boot in my Alias Mae review is the Cam. The Cam is definitely a modern take on a classic Chelsea boot. It also hits just above the ankle and has a chunkier sole for additional comfort and edgy style.
This shoe has some editorial energy to it. It’s different yet extremely fashion-forward and innovative. To add to the runway-worthy shoe, you could wear an oversized dress or a large button-down. So, you can show off the boots in all of their glory, letting people know that they’re definitely made for walking. You can even add some chunky jewelry for a rebellious vibe.
The Alias Mae Cam is on sale for about $112 (regularly $216).
Alias Mae Sandals Review
Next up are the best-selling Alias Mae sandals. Again, there are several different styles to choose from, but I have my eyes set on some chunky flip flops and cozy slides. So, keep reading to find out more!
Alias Mae Soda Review
The Alias Mae Soda just looks luxurious. It takes a regular sandal and completely transforms it with a leather sole and satin-looking toe thong to slip your feet into. It also has an additional leather strap across it for some extra security and flair.
Reaching for these sandals on warmer days feels like a no-brainer. They’ll definitely add a unique and relaxed look to your outfit. It’s minimal, but yet its almost scarf-like detail adds something different and intriguing. You’re bound to catch some eyes when sporting this piece of footwear.
The Soda sandal retails for about $164. Plus, you can get it in four different colors.
Alias Mae Pablo Review
The Alias Mae Pablo sandal looks like the comfiest of all sandals. It’s designed with shearling, which is recently shorn sheep or lambskin with the wool left on. This gives you a plush material to slide your feet into during colder nights shacked up at home.
But if you’re up to it, you can definitely rock these slides while out and about. No one will even bat an eye while you’re out running errands or hanging out with your girls. Plus, I recommend wearing these sandals with a matching sweat set to really complete your cozy look.
Additionally, it comes in about seven different colors, so you have an excellent selection to choose from. The Pablo will run you about $134 at checkout.
Alias Mae Heels Review
Last but not least are the most popular Alias Mae heels. Kirkhope’s high heel designs include strappy classics and eccentric, modern-looking heels that’ll definitely have you swooning.
Alias Mae Bowie Review
The Alias Mae Bowie’s eccentric colorway and point heel design are reminiscent of the Ziggy Stardust days. The blue satin shoe is completed with the pink strap design, which turns into a bow just before the pointed toe. This adds a unique look and is absolutely editorial-worthy. In addition, it takes a classic strappy heel to an entirely new level.
This is the ultimate statement shoe. Of course, it would look gorgeous paired with other vibrant colors like neon yellow or pink. But, you could make an even bigger statement when you go totally neutral for your outfit.
Wearing a simple black dress or even an oversized white button-down can bring everyone’s attention to these beautiful shoes. Plus, it comes in five other bright colors. You can get the Bowie for about $186.
Alias Mae Aspen Review
The last shoe in this Alias Mae review is a tried and true companion. The Aspen is a classic strappy heel perfect for any occasion. The bright blue leather color is another standout design choice and could even be another excellent statement piece.
You really can’t go wrong with a strappy heel. These open-toed, square bottom heels can easily be worn with wide-leg pants or your favorite neutral-colored dress. Of course, I might not suggest walking too far in these shoes because it might get a bit uncomfortable. But, honestly, I would also do anything for the perfect outfit.
The Aspen retails for about $164 on the brand’s website at the time of this Alias Mae review.
Who Is Alias Mae For?
Alias Mae is a shoe company for women. They have a selection of timeless and modern, editorial-looking footwear that’ll have any fashionista pining for more. From glamorous heels to chunky boots, any girl would be able to match an Alias Mae shoe to her own style.
That being said, the brand is on the expensive side, so it might not be as budget-friendly as other companies. But, there are financing options available if you’re really itching to buy a pair of Cam boots.
Alias Mae Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
What would an Alias Mae review be without some customer feedback? I scoured the internet for testimonials and experiences. Unfortunately, I didn’t come up with much. There are no reviews on the company’s main website and minimal third-party comments.
I did find some ratings on Product Review, where the company has an average rating of 3.4/5 stars from about 5 reviews. So from the five ratings, three of them are five-star testimonials.
One customer writes, “I recently purchased a pair of shoes in the Black Friday sale, and the item I received was not the one I purchased. I contacted their customer service team, and they organized for the correct shoes to be sent out. They also provided me with a prepaid return label for the wrong shoes.
The correct shoes arrived just in time for the weekend, and I am so happy with them! […] Thank you, team at Alias Mae! You’re awesome.”
Another reviewer writes, “I have just purchased the new Tully sandal, and it’s so comfortable. The leather is incredibly soft. I find that every time I purchase an Alias Mae product, it never disappoints. The quality is always excellent, true to size, and delivery is also very quick. Thanks, Alias Mae, for always delivering an honest product.”
The last five-star reviewer is also happy with their customer service experience. They write, “A few weeks ago, I received a pair of Alias Mae boots. Due to a certain reason, I wanted to swap these shoes for another pair. I sent an email to ask about swapping these over, and honestly, their customer service was amazing.”
This customer goes on to say that they received prompt responses and even received free return shipping. Based on these three reviews, the customers seem pretty satisfied with their purchases and experiences. But, I did find two other Alias Mae reviewers who didn’t share the same view.
The two criticisms mainly cite the quality of the shoes. Unfortunately, there’s no indication of whether or not they were compensated by the Alias Mae customer service team. But, from the previous testimonials, it seems like contacting them is the best way forward.
Is Alias Mae Worth It?
Tom Kirkhope has done an excellent job in designing high-quality shoes for the modern woman. As I mentioned, his designs take traditional styles and add some edge to them, which makes for beautiful-looking footwear.
The positive reviews I found cite fantastic customer service experiences. So, it wouldn’t hurt to bookmark them for your next online shopping spree!
