About Fitbod

Fitbod Review

Half the battle when trying to achieve a fitter and healthier body is to show up at the gym. The other half is applying yourself during your workouts; you know, no pain, no gain type of stuff. The third half is knowing what you will do when you get to the gym.

Okay, maybe that math doesn’t add up. If I’m being honest, the only math I’ve had to do after graduating high school was adding five pounds to my bench press and squat during my bulking phases. Thankfully, I don’t have to do that anymore after using Fitbod

It’s an app that can develop workouts for you based on your goals, demonstrate which exercises you should add to your routine, track your progress, and much more.

Essentially, Fitbod can transform you from a Sammy Sausagehead to a Beefy Bill through easily-digestible information. As I said, you’ll have to put in the work yourself, but that work is easier when you have a plan to follow.

So far, Fitbod has helped over 1M people fall back in love with working out. They maintain a strong presence on Instagram too, boasting more than 74K followers.

Fitbod Review

Fitbod Review

The best way to summarize Fitbod is that it’s like having a knowledgeable friend in your pocket, and that friend happens to be a personal trainer. It can help you get stronger, increase muscle mass, tone your body by cutting fat, and more.

Additionally, it accommodates the resources at your disposal. It will provide you with more workout ideas if you have access to a private gym and fewer if you only have a squat rack in your garage.

Fitbod builds a program around your goals, current fitness level, and schedule. The more you use it, the better the app’s AI gets at designing workouts because it has more information to draw from. It can see where you’re making the most progress, where you need to focus more energy, and help you work around plateaus.

You can connect Fitbod to your Apple Watch so it can gather more information and develop better plans for you. This is great for recovery because Fitbod can see how hard you worked one day and tailor the rest of your week to mitigate exhaustion.

It’ll also rotate exercises in upcoming workouts so that the freshest muscles work the hardest while the most tired ones take a back seat.

How Does Fitbod Work?

Fitbod Review

This section of my Fitbod review will break down the sign-up process. You’ll begin by telling Fitbod which of these three categories you fall into:

  1. Beginner (new to working out or weight training)
  2. Intermediate (you have some experience with weight training)
  3. Advanced (you possess years of weight training experience)

Next, Fitbod will ask you what your ideal workouts and goals look like. You’ll then detail how much equipment you have in your vicinity and how well-equipped your gym is.

There’s a pretty deep checklist of gym equipment in Fitbod’s library, ranging from squat racks to EZ curl bars to kettlebells to reverse hyper benches.

You can add body measurements like height, weight, and age to Fitbod so it can better track your progress, but it’s not necessary.

Although Fitbod meets you at your current level, it encourages you to challenge yourself and try harder by adding more sets, reps, or weight to an exercise. You don’t need to worry if you fail an exercise on a given day; Fitbod will account for that and adapt your upcoming workouts.

Additionally, you can tell Fitbod which exercises you do and don’t like. For me, that’d be incline dumbbell bench press and Bulgarian split squats.

Once Fitbod learns your preferences, it can shuffle in your desired exercises more often. That way, each workout can remain enjoyable.

How Much Does Fitbod Cost?

Fitbod Review

The Fitbod free trial only includes three sample workouts. This isn’t enough to get an idea of how Fitbod will work for you in the long term, as you have to stick with a program for a while to see if it’s right for you.

The key difference between Fitbit free vs paid is that the latter option includes unlimited access to workouts. A Fitbod subscription costs $13 per month or $80 annually

Who Is Fitbod For?

Fitbod Review

You’ll notice I haven’t mentioned yoga, running, or steady-state cardio in my Fitbod review. That’s because Fitbod is for strength training.

It’s for people who want to get stronger or put on muscle mass, offering guided plans for all experience levels. If you want a long-distance cardio workout, then you’d best look elsewhere.

Fitbod Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Fitbod Review

Average Fitbod reviews reveal that the app is appreciated by customers. Here are some scores reflecting that from aggregate consumer websites:

  • iOS App Store: 4.8/5 stars based on more than 188,000 pieces of customer feedback
  • Google Play Store: 4.6/5 stars based on more than 13,000 pieces of customer feedback
  • Trust Pilot: 3.8/5 stars based on four pieces of customer feedback

Fitbod motivated customers to get back in the gym and stay there. They felt more confident working out because they didn’t have to plan workouts, calculate whether or not to add weight to the bar, or doubt their progress. Fitbod made everything easy for them. As one buyer put it,

“I felt like Fitbod put all of the workout theory into practice and I didn’t need to think about whether I was doing something wrong. I overcame a lot of fear and now tackle more advanced exercises.”

Fitbod reviews also highlighted how you can personalize the service to your needs. Customers didn’t feel like they were missing out if they lacked access to a piece of equipment or had to work around an injury. Fitbod accommodated them.

I love that I can customize the app – exclude exercises I can’t do, set the type of regimen and equipment available or that works for me. The app changes up the exercises, this prevents me from getting bored and keeps my interest with my at home workouts right now. I can truly say I get a better workout then the gym at times – I’m sweating, my heart rate is up and I feel fulfilled at the end of the workout!” wrote one user on the iOS App Store.

The final detail customers mentioned in their Fitbod reviews was how well the app taught them new movements. The displays are clean and informative, allowing customers to easily figure out new exercises.

I’ll wrap up this section with one last customer testimonial, taken from the Apple Store:

When it comes to using this app, I never have to think about what exercises I should do because it does the work for me. You are able to pick workout types based on preference. For example, push/pull, upset body/lower body, full body, etc. each exercise is also explained and demonstrated to cover different learning styles, visual, kinetic, etc. the app keep track of what you did in the last workout and applies weight suggestions.

Fitbod vs. Jefit

Fitbod Review

Not to stoke any competitive flames, but there’s a Fitbod vs Jefit debate in certain online circles. Here are some key features Jefit possesses:

  • Community-generated workouts
  • Free plan available
  • Deep database of exercises

The difference is that Jefit misses many of Fitbod’s best characteristics. It doesn’t plan workouts around which muscles are the most tired, nor is the tracking monitored by AI.

As such, Jefit may be more desirable for people with some experience in the weight room. But, if you’re not accustomed to tracking your lifts and progressively overloading, then Fitbod is better. It handles those processes, so it feels intuitive to you.

Is Fitbod Legit?

Fitbod Review

Based on everything I read when researching this Fitbod review, the service is safe and legitimate

Is Fitbod Worth It?

Fitbod Review

Personal trainers at commercial gyms can be expensive without necessarily being worth the cost. Fitbod, on the other hand, is affordable and sustainable.

It’s a great tool for beginners to learn the ropes and develop confidence. It’s also useful for seasoned veterans who want to energize their workouts. As you can see, I’m in the camp that believes Fitbod is worth it.
