HydroJug got started in 2017 after brothers Jake and Hayden Wadsworth watched a YouTube video of an athlete using a milk jug as a water bottle.

Since the launch in 2017 HydroJug has expanded from their flagship product to over 15 new hydration products. They have not only expanded their color options but the materials of their jugs, sizing, and accessories. Each product has dozens of designs and colors to pick from so there is sure to be a bottle that you like. Based in Utah, you can now find HydroJug in big-name retailers like HEB, Tillys, Scheels and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as Target in January 2023.

What now seems insane, back then, there weren’t any viable options for people looking for large-scale hydration.

Launching with just three color options, a year later, the brothers expanded to include 10, and in 2020 sold 900k products, adding more designs and sleeves to their collection along the way. Based in Utah, you can now find HydroJug in big-name retailers like Target, Tillys, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

HydroJug Water Bottle Review

What started as one half-gallon bottle has now expanded to include an impressive lineup of jugs, including Pro, Mini, Glass, and Stainless Steel Insulated designs.

HydroJug Neutral Pro Jugs Review

The Pro Jugs are the brand’s most popular style. Large enough to handle a half gallon of water, the Neutral Pro Jugs come in 5 modern colors like nude and mauve.

Incredibly durable, these powerhouses are made from BPA-free polypropylene so they’re shatterproof, dishwasher-safe, and lightweight. 

Designed with features to make your day better, you’ll get an improved grip with the redesigned handle for one-hand carrying. This model also has a thicker carrying loop than its predecessor which means it can handle more wear and tear. Right now, you can get it for $22.

HydroJug Oil Paint Pro Jugs Review

Love the Pro design but looking for something a little more glam? The Oil Paint Pro Jugs have an awesome oil-slick design, fading one color into the next to keep things interesting with a finish that’s soft to the touch.

You can pick from Aqua, Berry, Grapefruit, and Horizon color tones which, by the way, are all equally as dreamy. This style has all of the same features the Pro is so loved for, made from shatterproof and dishwasher-safe BPA-free polypropylene.

Grip your jug with the integrated handle and bring it along without spills by grabbing the thick carrying loop. And this bottle only goes for $22.

HydroJug Wild Ones Stainless Jugs Review 

Other insulated bottles are cool and all, but they just don’t hold enough water. The Wild Ones Stainless Jugs do. Plus, you get the perk of having your favorite sleek print. This design comes in either black cow or black leopard, both of which never go out of style. 

As for the jug itself, it’s made from 18/8 stainless steel, includes triple layer insulation, and can hold 64 oz of water. Made with an ultra-wide mouth, it’s easy to drink from and clean. Need more from your bottle? The Wild Ones Stainless Steel Jugs are also equipped with an oversized grip handle and a silicone base to prevent slides and spills. 

Promising to keep your water cold for 24 hours, this design is an easy choice for those who like to keep things wild. Get it now for $73.

HydroJug Taupe Studded HYDROSHKR Review 

If you’re looking to literally shake things up, check out the Taupe Studded HydroSHKR. Whatever you might think to put inside this bottle, know that it’s double-walled and triple-insulated to handle just about any drop (e.g. temperature or post-gym finger soreness).

Realistically, the addition of the Pro Lid and SHKR grate makes this bottle most suitable for mixing protein and pre-workout shakes. However, this HydroSHKR also comes with a second lid and straw so you can sip in style on rest days.

Totally BPA-free, you can pick up the Taupe Studded HydroSHKR for $25.

HydroJug Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Sure, HydroJug has some pretty awesome bottles, but what are they really like? In this section of my HydroJug review, I’ll find out by checking out feedback. First up, some ratings I pulled from the brand’s site.

Diving into the comments section for the Neutral Pro Jugs, I saw a lot of happy customers. Most of them said that they keep their water cold and is easy to hold. One HydroJug review read:

“Love the color and feel of the jug I have 5 different bottles and love them all. So easy to keep track when you’re drinking 4-5 liters a day. Live the wide mouth on the bottle so I can load easily with ice.”

Many customers gravitated toward this brand because of the size of its jugs and how many cool colors it offers, but it’s the jugs’ performance that ultimately made shoppers happy. At least, that’s what the brand’s website tells us, let’s head over to Amazon to see if the same level of feedback holds up.

On Amazon, the Neutral Pro Jugs has a 4.6/5 star score from over 2.5k shoppers. Amazingly, 90% of shoppers rated it between 4 and 5 stars. That’s an awesome score. What did they love so much about it? Amazon shoppers said they love how it looks, how big it is, and how easy it is to hold.

Here’s one HydroJug review that summed it all up: “Using this to drink water. Very convenient to hold and use with one hand. It’s not heavy even when it’s completely filled. Doesn’t leak. I love the hydro jug. Since I got it, I am drinking more water regularly. Love the color too.”

Buyers said it’s also easy to wash thanks to the wide mouth which is a definite perk that not all reusable bottles have.

The next review is taken from a website called Apartment Therapy. Their writer did an in-depth analysis of the bottle and the consensus was that it’s “strong and durable” with smart features and an attractive design. Here’s what they had to say about the carrying loop:

“The carrying loop is what really caught my attention…Without even thinking about it, I can grab the jug by the loop and carry it with me. I don’t even have to worry about the lid suddenly flying open and spilling my drink everywhere. It snaps shut and holds tight!” 

If you’re choosing these jugs just because of their looks, you’ll be pleasantly surprised that it’s thoughtfully made. As an affordable bottle to keep you hydrated, customers appear to treasure their purchases from HydroJug. 

Is HydroJug Legit?

I want to give you the full scoop in my HydroJug review, so that means looking into both positive and negative feedback. Overall, there aren’t many issues that people encountered with this brand, but I checked into the Better Business Bureau to see how it deals with any they do have. 

The BBB gave Hyrdojug an A+ score for responding to and resolving all complaints made. While those complaints might have been a red flag, the way the brand deals with issues shows us that if you have an ongoing issue, they will make it right.

Is HydroJug Worth It?

I’m a little too familiar with the constant back and forth to my kitchen to refill my water bottle. Having a larger jug close by just makes sense as it means I’ll drink more water instead of waiting for a break. 

Compared to other reusable, eco-friendly water bottles on the market, I think HydroJug is a really cool option. It offers large-scale bottles for half the price of competitors with much larger sizes as well.

Designing them with fun colors and patterns, you get both an awesome-looking bottle and the hydration you need.
