Overview of Kylie Baby
You’re probably familiar with Kylie Jenner’s luxury cosmetics, skincare, and swim collections. Her latest release is a clean, hypoallergenic, and pediatrician-tested line of gentle bath products. That’s what I’ll be focusing on in my Kylie Baby review.
Launching in 2021, ever since Kylie Jenner had her daughter Stormi, she had dreamed of creating her own natural baby brand. The result? A totally vegan and cruelty-free line with standards higher than what’s set out by the European Union, Canada, and the US.
While you can probably owe the brand’s 1.7 million Instagram followers to the celeb’s success, Kylie Baby hasn’t fallen short on positive feedback. In fact, people are kind of nuts about its effective formulas and dreamy packaging.
Is it right for your little one? In my Kylie Baby review, I’ll tell you everything you need to know in a snap, including details on its products, feedback, and more so you can decide for yourself.
Highlights
- Simple line of clean and thoughtful bath products
- Vegan and cruelty-free
- Hypoallergenic and pediatrician-tested
- Gorgeous packaging and quality pump
- Bundles and options to save
- Cute pink and blue aesthetic
Kylie Baby Review
Now, to get into the fine details of my Kylie Baby review. After a quick scan of its inventory, I learned that the collection is pretty compact. It includes the Gentle Shampoo, Gentle Conditioner, and the Moisturizing Lotion, along with 100% cotton hooded towels, travel cases, and sets that bundle them all together.
The theme? Pink and blue ombré with floating clouds, which is both simple and super appealing at the same time. While I may be slightly obsessed with the packaging, it’s the clean formulas that are really impressive here.
Made with botanical oils, nourishing butters, and plant-based cleansers, all Kylie Baby products care for your child’s skin and hair. It also doesn’t hurt that the line comes with a ton of badges, like dermatologist-tested, paraben-free, and tear-free. So you know its products are legit as can be.
Performance
The Gentle Shampoo cleans and detangles hair, the Gentle Conditioner hydrates and defines curls, and the Moisturizing Lotion is kind on sensitive skin, keeping babies feeling hydrated and itch-free.
Based on what I’ve read in feedback, all three of these formulas work well and moms really love how well it works on textured, curly, or even fine hair. Formulas are indeed gentle and have absolutely no fragrance.
Design
The bath product’s design is one of the brand’s most notable features. Even though their packaging features cliché baby colors of pink and blue, it melds them in such a way to evoke feelings of dreamy nap times.
While you shouldn’t buy Kylie Jenner baby products just for their packaging, it doesn’t hurt to have something pleasant to look at during bath time.
What’s Included?
The Kylie Baby selection is small, but you’ll find both single 8 fl oz bottles of each of the formulas for $17. You will also find travel sets that contain one shampoo, one conditioner, a bubble bath, and a bottle of lotion.
If you’re interested in a set, the cost of a hooded towel, travel case, and all 4 products is $86 (from $96).
Besides that, there are actually a few different sets available for purchase. And of course, you can buy all of the included products individually, not just the formulas.
Important Things to Consider Before Buying a Kylie Baby
This is your baby we’re talking about here, so of course, what you buy requires a ton of consideration. We’ve put together a list of points you may want to take a look at before loading Kylie Baby into your cart.
Ingredients
Are Kylie Baby products safe? A totally clean line, the Kylie Baby line has stricter standards than regulations set out in the US, Canada, and EU. All products are paraben-free, gluten-free, and pediatrician-tested.
Vegan
Kylie Baby products are 100% vegan. This means none of the ingredients come from animals. More to love: they’re also cruelty-free!
Hypoallergenic
Babies are sensitive. To literally everything. The Kylie Baby line is made with hypoallergenic ingredients to ensure your little one is looked after.
Tear Free
There’s nothing worse than shampoo in your eyes! Choosing this brand means your babe’s peepers are protected from those nasty stings.
Smell
Kylie Baby shampoo, conditioner, and wash do not contain any added fragrances. They all have a neutral, natural scent.
Frequency of Use
The regular-sized bottles of Kyle Baby shampoo and conditioner are 8 fl oz each. This is a standard size and if your little one doesn’t have a lot of hair, they should last you a while.
Kylie Baby Alternatives
Kylie Baby isn’t the only clean baby company to exist and you should know your options. Here are two other brands we think are pretty awesome.
Hello Bello
Offering a full line of products for babies and kids, Hello Bello is loved for their natural, clean ingredients. The Extra Gentle Shampoo & Body Wash is pH-balanced, dermatologist-tested, and hypoallergenic.
Unlike Kylie Baby, you can choose from 6 fresh scents or you can go fragrance-free. Also, for 10 fl oz, you’ll only pay $8.
Burt’s Bees Baby
With a similarly small product lineup as Kylie Baby, Burt’s Bees Baby contains just the essentials. The Tear Free Shampoo & Wash is free from phthalates, petroleum, SLS, and parabens. It’s also pediatrician-tested, hypoallergenic, and plant-based.
While Kylie Baby doesn’t have added fragrance, this one does. Although you can get an 8 fl oz bottle for just $7.
These two brands offer similar products to what our featured line does. While Hello Bello has a larger selection of products, both it and Burt’s Bees Baby offer scented formulas. The two cost half of what Kyle Baby products cost, but our featured brand does check all of the boxes. Plus, it has the prettiest packaging of the lot.
Kylie Baby Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
While I really could admire the ingredients and packaging of Kylie Baby all day, you’re here for the full scoop on the brand’s line and you can’t get that without feedback.
In this section of my Kylie Baby review, you’ll find a handful of comments and ratings I raked in from around the web. Let’s start at home base: KylieCosmetics.com.
- Gentle Shampoo: 4/5 stars over 164 reviews
- Gentle Conditioner: 4.1/5 stars after 160 reviews
- Moisturizing Lotion: 3.7/5 stars from 149 reviews
It seems that a lot of people love the packaging of the brand’s line as much as I do. Aside from that, here’s what one customer had to say in their Kylie Baby review of the Gentle Shampoo:
“It’s not heavy and it detangles my daughter’s curly hair so perfectly. The only thing is it doesn’t smell good like I thought it would, actually has absolutely no smell at all.”
That’s an important fact to remember. If you’re looking for scents, Kylie Baby is totally unscented which, truly, is great for those sensitive to fragrance.
Other shoppers say similar things about how perfectly this shampoo detangles and cares for textured hair. Here’s one Kylie Baby review for the Gentle Conditioner that confirms it:
“Very creamy and rich, great for girls who get tangled easily due to fine hair. My daughter’s hair gets tangled really easily and I have a hard time combing through it but this conditioner is awesome.”
Others agree it leaves their baby’s hair soft and silky. From what I can see on the brand’s website, parents are impressed with the results.
Stepping out in search of reviews from other sources, I came up pretty empty. I did see a rating of 3.9/5 stars on Google for the Gentle Shampoo though, and while they were pulled in from KylieSkin.com, I figured I’d check into it anyway.
That Kylie Baby review had this to say about the scent: “It’s just kinda like regular scent-free soap. The texture is great and lathers nicely. The smell is mild but very different and almost has like an old scent to it. Love the packaging [and] colors, and the pump is nice.”
I appreciate that while this is a premium shampoo, everything was considered from the formula to the artwork to the type of packaging. I’d consider it a luxury baby line, so it’s nice to know that a lot of thought went into the product overall. Next up in my Kylie Baby review, I’ll give you my final verdict.
Is Kylie Baby Worth It?
Luxury baby shampoo, is it worth all the fuss? Like the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner’s brands (Skims, Good American, etc.), Kylie Baby is an elevated essential.
The brand does natural baby care in a glam way, and if you’re looking for a fragrance-free, clean, vegan line to match your own, with all things considered in my Kylie Baby review, I think it’s worth checking out.
Where to Buy Kylie Baby
I’m wrapping up my Kylie Baby review and if you’re interested in the line, the best place to buy Kylie Baby products is directly from KylieCosmetics.com. Right now, that looks to be the only e-shop they’re sold in.
