Overview Of Perricone MD
Dr. Perricone created Perricone MD in 1997 under the name Clinical Creations.
Along the way, the company was the first doctor-led brand to launch at Sephora. It established itself as a thriving e-commerce skincare store in 2001 and even published a #1 New York Times best-selling book called The Wrinkle Cure.
Dr. Perricone went on to write a second volume but also decided to focus on breakthrough beauty treatments, including Cold Plasma products and The No Makeup Collection (cosmetics infused with skincare properties).
Today, Perricone MD believes in treating yourself from the inside out and the outside in. A healthy diet, nutritional supplements, and potent topical skincare create its three-tier philosophy of success.

- DMAE: DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) is a compound that has been found to improve skin firmness and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by increasing the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that helps to firm and tighten the skin.

10 Best-Selling Perricone MD Skincare Products
Perricone MD products are split into Skincare, Supplements, No Makeup, Acne Relief, and Regimens categories.
This review’s primary focus is the best-selling Skincare, No Makeup, and Acne Relief products. We will examine ingredients, usage instructions, pricing, and more.
Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation Review
The No Makeup Foundation gives you a sheer, luminous base. It sets the stage for a more uniform complexion. It evens out your skin tone by visibly concealing discoloration and providing moisture.
Expect a dewy finish, with added broad spectrum SPF 20 for sun protection. Some customers love No Makeup Foundation while others complain about the new formula. But, overall, reviews are happy about the glowing skin it produces. You can purchase it for $60.
Perricone MD No Makeup Lipstick Review
Lip aging involves loss of volume, dehydration, and wrinkles. In a clinical study[2] conducted in the US, 36 women with lip dryness applied hyaluronic acid lipstick three times a day for a month.
Results showed instant and long-term effects improving texture, definition, scaling, cupping, wrinkles, plumpness, and overall lip condition.
Cushiony and skincare-infused, the No Makeup Lipstick promises to give you the same results. It moisturizes, protects, and gives your lips a pop of color. Plus, it visibly improves lip firmness, smoothness, and definition.
In this formula, neuropeptides fight off sagging, while hyaluronic acid is the agent behind lasting hydration. Although it may be gentle enough on your skin, it contains advanced SPF Protection to shield you from sun damage.
Overall, the No Makeup Lipstick is a great option for anyone serious about their lips. It is available for $30.
Perricone MD No Makeup Blush Review
No Makeup Blush gives your cheeks a natural flush. If your skin is looking a little sullen or pale in the winter months, apply some of this to look alive again. The buildable coverage gives you the freedom to create a glow as subtle or prominent as you wish.
This gel cream blends easily and stays on all day, more forgiving on wrinkles than powder blush. Vitamin C ester and Chinese ginger plant extract work together and form a smooth antioxidant experience for your skin.
Although evidence is still limited, a literature review[3] describes that topical application of Vitamin C has anti-aging, anti-pigmentary, and photoprotective effects.
Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Brightening Serum Review
Some skincare products promise a never-ending list of amazing benefits at the price of terribly pungent formulas. We pinch our noses when applying these potions, making the sacrifice. Thankfully, the Vitamin C Ester Brightening Serum is neutral—some users even love the scent!
Plus, it stands up to its tall claims of enhancing natural radiance and smoothing out texture. The potent Vitamin C serum is mixed with squalene and rosemary leaf extracts to shrink your pores and wake up your skin.
It’s widely known that vitamin c stimulates the synthesis of collagen. However, when applied topically, it cannot penetrate the epidermal barrier.
A recently published study[4] combined vitamin C with squalane (a skin lipid). Compared to other vitamin C formulas, their preparation achieved way better skin penetration and significantly increased collagen production.
The brand recommends applying a hyaluronic acid-packed lotion after using the serum.
You can purchase the Vitamin C Ester Brightening Serum on the Perricone MD website for $69.
Perricone MD High Potency Classics Firming Eye Lift Review
The High Potency Classics Firming Eye Lift is driven to improve one thing…You probably guessed it: lifting and firming the delicate skin around your eyes.
It won’t produce dramatic results right away; eye creams are more effective when incorporated into your nighttime routine and used diligently.
You’ll observe shrinking crow’s feet and decreased puffiness in a day or two. Dark circles take a little more time to dissipate.
Through a formula reliant on hyaluronic acid, DMAE, and squalane, the High Potency Classics Firming Eye Lift goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin
Hyaluronic acid is a component of the extracellular matrix with water retention capacity. As described in a review article[5], hyaluronic acid dramatically decreases in aged skin resulting in loss of skin moisture. DMAE is a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
In a literature review[6] about the skin reparative properties of DMAE, the authors concluded that it increases skin firmness and may have anti-inflammatory activity.
You can buy the High Potency Classics Firming Eye Lift now for $72.
Perricone MD High Potency Growth Factor Firming & Lifting Serum Review
The High Potency Growth Factor Firming & Lifting Serum is a powerful way to give skin that coveted plump, bouncy look, but also develop its resilience against the effects of aging.
The special Encapsulated Retinol technology means it may feel gritty at first, but don’t be alarmed. This is intended so that the retinol can be soaked into your skin more easily and support its moisture barrier.
The anti-aging efficacy of retinol has been demonstrated in several studies. A review[7] published in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology found substantial evidence regarding topical retinoids in the treatment of photoaged skin.
Retinol improves the overall appearance of aged skin by reducing wrinkles, inelasticity, pigmentation, and roughness. Common side effects[8] include skin irritation, redness, and skin desquamation (peeling). It is not recommended to use retinoids during pregnancy.
When it comes back in stock, High Potency Growth Factor Firming & Lifting Serum will be available for $129. This is the perfect time to sign up for Perricone MD’s newsletter, so you’ll be the first to grab this in-demand serum when it’s back.
Perricone MD Neuropeptide Firming Moisturizer Review
This Perricone MD moisturizer is the real deal. It effectively helps restore the elasticity of thin, frail skin through deep hydration.
Ultra-powerful and creamy, the Neuropeptide Firming Moisturizer provides all-day softness. The formula contains phosphatidylcholine, which is a major component in human skin cells.
When applied topically, it increases skin hydration[9]. Apply a small amount under makeup or after using Perricone MD’s Vitamin C Ester Brightening serum.
Its promise is a younger-looking complexion and intensive firming. Neuropeptide Firming Moisturizer is the culmination of twenty years of research and the most advanced firming moisturizer that Perricone MD has to offer—which is why it costs an eye-popping $290.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma Review
Based on Vitamin C Ester, Omegas 3, 6 & 9, and Copper Tripeptide, the Cold Plasma+ Advanced Serum Concentrate is an advanced remedy that promotes supple skin. All at once, it heals dullness, redness, large pores, deep creases, and more.
Although there is little evidence, a nutraceuticals review[10] published in Dermatology and Therapy highlights that omega fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties in the skin. At the same time, copper induces collagen synthesis and may have skin anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and wound-healing effects.
Coming in at a one-time purchase of $149 the Cold Plasma+ Advanced Serum is a multi-tasking product that doesn’t skimp on any of the benefits.
For results that will win compliments at the next social gathering, combine this serum with Perricone MD’s Cold Plasma Plus+Sub-D/Neck, which we’ll get into next.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ Sub-D/Neck Review
The Cold Plasma Plus+ Sub-D/Neck is one of Perricone’s most established neck treatments.
It is designed to slow the signs of aging and give a sculpted jawline, keeping everything taut and graceful. In an 8-week clinical study, 85% of people had improved skin elasticity, while 76% noticed redness disappearing.
The Cold Plasma Plus+ Sub-D/Neck has a formula packed with DMAE for firming, peptides for fortifying against damage, and an all-natural skin-tightening stimulant. You can pick this product up for $135.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus Duo Review
Makeup can temporarily veil blemishes and sallow complexions. Eventually, long-term neglect will start to shine through, always holding you back. To combat recurring skin problems at a more foundational level, bring Cold Plasma Plus+ Duo into your skincare regime.
The Cold Plasma Plus+ Duo penetrates deep to correct damage and discoloration for a more polished look. After achieving velvet-smooth skin, you might even be compelled to toss out those full-coverage concealers.
This fragrance-free product is also marked down to $199 from $259.

Perricone MD Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
Is Perricone a good product? The brand received an average of 4/5 stars on their website, with very few outliers as of May 2023. That’s a heck of a great start to this section.
One 5-star review for the Cold Plasma Plus Duo+ shared that it was compatible with mature, sensitive skin. She echoed the sentiments of many, in saying that Perricone MD’s moisturizers are best paired with some of their more drying serums. Her testimonial reads:
“I have fair, sensitive and aging skin and harsh chemicals send me to the emergency room. That is why Perricone MD’s Cold Plasma products are right for me. I use them twice a day on my face and eyes after serum or toner for good, thorough coverage to lock in moisture. A finishing cream with sun protection or a moisturizing cream is the final step.”
On Sephora, Perricone customers are in love and gave the brand a 4/5 star average based on thousands of reviews.
A buyer left this Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer review: “This cream is SO good and left my skin looking younger and healthier almost instantly!! but I had to give it four stars because it made me break out SO much.”
On Trustpilot, Perricone MD received 4.6/5 stars. And while all the positive feedback from customers is reassuring, there were some common gripes amongst shoppers. For the most part, reviewers claimed that products were too expensive to repurchase, but most agreed that they saw satisfying results.
Is Perricone MD Worth It?
The verdict of this Perricone MD review is that the brand is worth it. They have great customer reviews overall, a huge selection of products that treat multiple skin issues, and they use clinically-proven ingredients to promote healthier-looking skin.
That said, Perricone’s recent acquisition by The Hut Group has left many customers disappointed in the recent changes to their favorite formulas. To be sure, customers still regularly leave 5-star reviews, but some of their fanbase has started to drift away.
As a result, we recommend keeping up with news of the brand before you decide to make a purchase. Take a look at your favorite formulas as well to observe any changes before pressing “add to cart”!

I used the Growth Factor Firming and Liftimg Serum and Brightening Serum for approximately six months. During that time I saw no visible results, therefore I let it go. I tried other products from The Ordinary and some results within two weeks. Decreased dark spots, brighter and firmer feeling. And at major fraction of the cost. Major lesson learned, brand name and price does not equal results. What was promoted/promised from this high end brand definitely did not deliver!
