Renogy 200Ah Core Series Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Review
Lead-acid batteries may have been the preferred power source of the past, but a new, more sustainable, and safer type of battery has come into play, and it’s made with Lithium Iron Phosphate. These types of batteries are called LiFe PO4 batteries, and they come with a host of benefits, including a longer battery life, 5,000 lifecycles, and faster charging.
They’re the first step in creating your off-grid power system, and when coupled with a quality solar panel, can be used again and again while away from an electrical power source. Here’s everything you should know about them:
Features
- Maximum 6% positive capacity tolerance. Capacity tolerance indicates the cell balance and longevity of the battery. The lower the tolerance, the longer the lifespan.
- Up to 16 batteries can be connected: 4 in series, 8 in parallel, and 16 in series-parallel connection.
- Lower temperature cut-off protects your battery from overcharging.
- Comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
Specs
- 200Ah rated capacity
- 12.8V nominal voltage
- 2560Wh energy
- 5,000 cycles (about 10 years of life depending on your use)
- 14.4V charge voltage
- 20.55 x 9.45 x 8.62 in dimensions
- 47.3 lbs
- IP65 protection rating

Renogy Bifacial 220 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel Review
Solar panels convert solar power into usable energy, recharging your reusable battery to supply you with continuous power. Other models of solar panels feature cells on just one side, but the Bifacial 220 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel has cells on both sides. This means it’s more efficient than mono-facial panels, and works better in overcast conditions. It offers up to 30% higher energy output than a regular mono-facial solar panel, allowing you to generate power quicker than ever.
Features
- Energy yield up to 30% more than mono-facial panels
- Collections more energy in partially shaded areas
- Earn up to 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit
- 25-year performance warranty

Renogy Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
You’ve read the features and the specs, but all is for naught if you don’t know what customers’ experience has been with Renogy’s products. In this section of my Renogy review, you’ll hear from those who have purchased and used their batteries and solar panels.
Let’s start with some feedback from Renogy.com, where the 12V/24V/48V 200Ah Core Series Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery has a 5/5 star rating among 29 reviews. The Bifacial 220 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel has a 5/5 star rating as well, but only 1 review at this time. Let’s dive into the feedback for each.
Of the 12V/24V/48V 200Ah Core Series Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery, one customer said, “Amazing battery and really good value! We love Renogy products and were debating between this and Battle Born. Ultimately we chose Renogy and we are so happy we did!”
Of the Bifacial 220 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel, another shopper said, “Panels are good, they usually produce over 90% of the rated energy most of the time in a sunny day. And occasionally produce more than rated if in cool sunny day with some reflectors. Though, I had mixed experiences with the other panels I bought from Renogy before. But I am very happy for their performance for now.”
From both of these reviews, I can see that Renogy’s products work pretty well, even better than some other brands. Let’s take a peek at what Amazon shoppers have to say for good measure.
On Amazon, the 12V 200Ah Core Series Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery has a 4.3/5 star score among 37 reviews. Here’s the snapshot:
- 5 stars: 72%
- 4 stars: 9%
- 3 stars: 8%
- 2 stars: 0%
- 1 star: 12%
One of the positive reviews on Amazon read, “I use it to power a portable refrigerator, television, some galley tools and other odds and ends on my boat. Although not all can be used at the same time, the battery provides me with at minimum @24-36 hours of use and then requires a full recharge.”
Many customers write that the battery has an easy setup, and many boat folk say that it has more than enough power for their needs.
Overall, Renogy appears to make great products. While they aren’t ideal for every customer and situation, the majority report excellent use.
Is Renogy Legit?
I have found some seriously great feedback online for Renogy’s batteries. Shoppers say that the customer service is slightly lacking, but their products more than make up for it. The brand has excellent ratings on and off its website, so from what I can see, they’re safe to shop with.
Is Renogy Worth It?
While I didn’t personally test out the Renogy battery and solar panels, I read ample reviews from those who have. As we come into a time in the world where reliable power sources are optimal, it’s necessary to find a power option that makes sense for your life. That’s where Renogy comes in. Folks say their products work well and that their batteries are game-changers when compared to lead-acid.
LiFe PO4 lithium iron phosphate is the power source of the future. These batteries have a longer lifespan than lead-acid, are more eco-friendly, have improved safety, and are faster charging. I also appreciate the discount that Renogy offers on their products. If you’re sussing out a company to buy your batteries and solar panels from, I don’t see why you wouldn’t shop with this brand.
