Overview of Yogasleep
Developed in 1962, you may be thinking that Yogasleep is a modern name, but originally, it was called Marpac. Its history reaches back to a man named Jim Buckwater, a traveling salesman with a wife that couldn’t get a good night’s sleep—although she certainly slept better in hotel rooms with whirring air conditioners.
But not everyone could afford an air conditioner, nor the electric bill, and so just as any decent man would do, Jim decided to take his wife’s issue into his own hands, developing the first-ever sound machine out of a dog bowl. He called it a “sound conditioner.” Gotta love that.
Though Marpac evolved into Yogasleep and the dog bowl sound conditioner turned into a compact, USB-charging, adjustable device, the North Carolina-based brand’s machines use the same method Jim created all those years ago.
Now that you know a little more about where the brand came from, this Yogasleep review will give you a rundown of its pros and cons before heading into its soothing product selection.

Yogasleep Yogabed Review
Sound machines can help you sleep soundly, but they’re equally as important as mattresses when it comes to getting rest. This Yogasleep review will showcase the brand’s most popular mattress, the Yogabed.
Yogasleep Yogabed Mattress Review
If you’ve ever tossed and turned in the night, it was probably due to an uncomfortable mattress. A good one should improve your sleep, so much so that you don’t need to constantly adjust.

Comparison: Yogasleep vs. HoMedics
Sleep is precious, that’s why today, you’ll find many brands on the market that help improve it. In this section of our Yogasleep review, we’ll take a look at HoMedics and see exactly how similar it is to our featured brand.
The biggest thing these two brands have in common is their mission to help people relax. HoMedics product lineup is filled with spa essentials, like massagers and foot spas, but it does offer sound machines as well.
Because sound machines are our featured brand’s signature product, we decided to put the Dohm Classic Natural Sound Machine head-to-head with the HoMedics DeepSleep Mini.
- Yogasleep Whish Multi-Sound Machine
- 16 sound options
- 4 signature Dohm sounds
- 4 high-quality white noise sounds
- 4 relaxing nature sounds
- 4 sleep songs
- USB power adapter
- Auto-timer
- $40
- 16 sound options
- HoMedics DeepSleep Mini
- 2 built-in nature sounds + 3 white noise tones of white, pink, or brown
- 12 hours of battery life
- 4 Sleep Therapy programs
- Tone & Volume control
- Auto-timer
- $60 (normally $80)
Each of these machines has different things going for them, but usually, fussing with batteries is never fun, and the more options for sound, the better. With that said, HoMedics is still a fabulous brand and offers an extensive range of products to help you relax—both good brands, just a matter of preference.

Yogasleep Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
Yogasleep is known for its quality, but rather than take the brand’s word for it, although credible after being in business for almost 60 years, we’d like to hear what customers think.
Ahead, you’ll find a list we compiled of the brand’s bestsellers along with their ratings:
- 10” Memory Foam Mattress with Pillow: an average of 4.6/5 stars from 302 reviews
- Yogasleep Rohm Sound Machine: an average of 4.6/5 stars from 134 reviews
- Hushh Compact Sound Machine: an average of 4.3/5 stars from 114 reviews
- Dohm Natural Sound Machine: an average of 4.8/5 stars from 69 reviews
- Dohm Natural Classic Sound Machine: an average of 4.6/5 stars from 162 reviews
We decided to look closer at the Dohm Natural Classic Sound Machine to see what customers loved about it.
In general, shoppers write short comments about how much they really do love this machine and how well it performs. A more detailed Yogasleep review for the Dohm reads, “We had a sound machine before this one that had all these different noises and pitches into one and it drove me crazy. Dohm has one consistent noise.”
Others speak of great customer service, something we can tell from the way a rep replies underneath the negative comments.
Next, we turned to Amazon to check in on the Whish Yogasleep White Noise Machine. It has a 4.6/5 star rating from 1,674 buyers with the following breakdown:
- 5 stars: 80%
- 4 stars: 9%
- 3 stars: 3%
- 2 stars: 3%
- 1 star: 4%
People seem to really enjoy this machine, many remarking on how loud it is and how much they like it. One Yogasleep review read, “This noise machine is wonderful. Has a lot of different white noise options to choose from and it has a very deep, bass sound and it isn’t light and static like at all!”
Others echo this comment, saying it’s “constant and smooth.”
But even though most love it loud, some don’t. And we found one negative review that talked about its “very synthetic/electronic” sound. We didn’t find another that complained of this but thought it may be worth noting as the same review said the Dohm and Rohm models are better in terms of natural noise.
Feeling like we got a good grasp on the brand’s sound machines, we decided to head to My Slumber Yard to see how the 10” Yogabed Mattress held up to the test.
The reviewer was really pleased with the bed, saying it has “pretty dang good edge support and deadens movement efficiently.” What they loved most about the bed though, was the removable and machine washable cover. All of these features are super important when it comes to choosing a mattress, so it’s great to know this one has it all.
The only issue the Yogasleep review on My Slumber Yard found was that the bed isn’t suited for those over 250 lbs—but that’s pretty typical for foam mattresses in general, not just this one.
We were impressed with the feedback we came across in our research, and it looks like Yogasleep’s promise of quality really does hold true.
Is Yogasleep Worth It?
Before we get into our verdict, this Yogasleep review must note the brand’s Prop 65 Warning. Disclaiming the slight possibility of exposure to harmful chemicals inside its electronic products, the brand is compelled to let its customers know the risk of buying them in accordance with California Law.
You should never take warnings lightly, so when buying any electronic device from Yogasleep, be sure to keep it away from kids and in a safe place. Since this is typical for most electronic devices, it’s not a total deterrent, but definitely something to keep in mind.
With customer feedback, great customer service, smart features, and product selection in mind, this Yogasleep review believes the brand’s products are worth the buy.
Aside from the Prop 65 warning, there were no red flags that popped up about the brand and its products, and it appears that it’s truly a reliable company. Plus, its 101-day trial, decent prices, warranties, and free refunds pretty much seal the deal for us.
Yogasleep Promotions & Discounts
Getting a good night of sleep is non-negotiable, yet hefty bills are enough to keep you up all night. Since the brand is all about sleep, they made sure to offer enough deals to keep your pockets full and your mind free from worry.
